Jennifer Andrewes in conversation with Nicola Brown
Join writer and walker Jennifer Andrewes for an inspiring conversation with Nicola Brown about her 2,400 km pilgrimage to Rome — a journey of strength, solitude and self-discovery.
Determined to slow the progression of early-onset Parkinson’s, Jennifer set out from Canterbury along the historic Via Francigena trail across Europe, meeting fellow pilgrims, navigating challenges, and learning to trust the path ahead. Her story, captured in The Only Way is Up, shows how walking can offer practical lessons for living well: building resilience, finding meaning, and moving forward — one step at a time.
Nicola Brown is a Dunedin-based clinical psychologist, stand-up comedian, writer, and award-winning performer, bringing her warmth and humour to the conversation.

Note: This is not an Alliance Francaise Dunedin event, but a City of Literature event that we think will interest our members due to the writer's French connection and the theme of the book.
