About the Festival

The Alliance Française French Film Festival has firmly established itself as the foremost French cultural event in New Zealand. Reaching out to about 35,000 people every year, the Festival is the second largest film festival in the country and showcases France and the French-speaking world in all its diversity.

Following the success of the 2017 Festival, the 2018 event will showcase 37 French- language feature films, offering audiences a chance to immerse themselves in one language, and a world of emotions.As New Zealand’s premier event celebrating French culture, the 2018 Alliance Française French Film Festival will continue to bring scintillating French cinema to an audience spanning 13 cities around the country.

Festival films will be shown in Dunedin at Rialto Cinema from 22 March to 4 April and in Arrowtown at Dorothy Browns from 5 to 15 April.
