We found another Dunedin Arts Festival event with a French twist: Songs for the Fallen – Paris Cabaret 3/4/5 Oct at 8 pm at the Mayfair theatre. Songs for the Fallen, set in 19th century Paris, is a glittering piece of cabaret-style music theatre charting courtesan Marie Duplessis’s life from poverty to infamy. This is the wild and hilarious tale of a woman who knew one thing: good girls don’t make history.
A reminder of the other events listed previously:
- Commander Claire and the Pirates of Provence. It’s a free children’s pantomime, but you need to book tickets. There are 4 shows on Fri 30 Sep 11am + 2pm and Sat 1 Oct 11am + 2pm.
- The Dunedin Symphony Orchestra playing Ravel “Le Tombeau de Couperin” in the Gallipoli to The Somme concert also on Sat 1 Oct 730pm.
Dunedin Arts Festival, 30 September – 9 October 2016.
